T20 stops receiving push notifications after a period of time and requires the device to be disconnected and reconnected to the network. Once reconnected, push notifications that are pending finally come through.

What could be causing this?

Why does the device show its connected to the internet, but cannot receive push notifications until disconnected and reconnected?
The device receives push notifications just fine for about 15 minutes, and then it stops. I have checked all network configurations and device settings.  Nothing seems to correct the issue.

Hi ,

please share more details about the notifications?if possible ,please share a link of the issue video.

Did you push notifications from MDM?If so, there is a set sending interval on the platform.

Thanks

Not using MDM. No interval.

The app and platform was developed by yourself?
Make sure the messages you send are timely to be received.
When cannot receive the message ,please try to use browser to test the network connect is ok or not

I am using Firebase code provided by google to listen for push notifications. I have tested this, and the push notification is not timely to be received. I must disconnect the network and reconnect it for the push notification to be received,  as you can see by the video I posted. Something about the OS on the T20 is causing this issue. Please test this yourself.

I have confirmed that the browser and all network related features are working when this issue is presenting itself. I have even implemented a heartbeat manager that pings my server every 30 seconds and can see that is still getting responses as expected. After a period of time, around 5-10 minutes, Push notifications are no longer received until  the device is manually disconnected from the network and reconnected again.

I am not sure if the issue is caused by DOZE, but if it is this needs to be addressed in the kernel,  as having to disable it with ADB every time the device restarts is not an acceptable solution.

Hi,you can try to make the screen always on in the setting to test if cause by the doze

Yes, the screen setting is set to always on.

Also, telpo has battery settings disabled. so there is no way to look at or edit the settings regarding power saving to test if that may be causing it.
